    I Will

    Your past has built the mountains that
    I will climb
    Your fear has filled the oceans that
    I will swim
    Your determination has closed the door that
    I will have the patience to open
    Your bitterness is drowning you in a rain of doubt that
    I will provide you with shelter from
    I will do these things because;
    Your smile has created a resolve within me
    That is insurmountable
    Your laugh fills my mind
    With music
    Your touch seeded a meadow where only
    The desert of my heart existed
    Your kisses have lit a fire in my soul
    That will burn forever
    I will...because I love you

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
