    • Love to write, photograph, express myself as best I can.

    I used to be

    I used to be an awesome tree,
    those who walked by looked in awe at me.
    My leaves were green, my branches were full.
    And I felt so GOOD to be loved by you.

    But now all my arms have been burnt away,
    they are but stumps that cannot sway.
    I still stand tall, but I'm smokey and thin.
    My sap flows slowly from deep within.

    No birds nest here, or they'd be seen;
    I'm a lonely tree in this forest of green.
    The winter comes and I am cold throughout,
    I wish I could pull my own damn roots out!!

    For I can't bear another day,
    feeling barren and empty,
    no use in any way.

    When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
