I Quit The Game Before It Began
Tornados have never been my cup of tea
I don't quite get them, wild as they may be.
And though it may be hard for you to understand:
I quit the game before it began
I let them go easily, the secrets I keep
I just usually sprint forward, and then take the leap
And it’s not because of you folks, that I feel guilt
But I left the building before it was built
I want to try it out, to have part in the fun
For if I don’t, I think the chance might soon be gone
And it’s not eternal sunshine, nor happiness I seek
But I spoke these words before I could speak.
This is the prettiest place that I’ve ever seen
But that’s because this is the only place I’ve ever been
And it’s not because you don’t turn me, with all your talk
But I ran the distance before I could walk
I don’t know quite what I want to say
I just stare out the window all day
And you may see I have a broken romance
But I gave up before I got the chance
Well I guess all this was what I could predict
I just hope there are some minds that I’ve tricked
And it’s not because I know my fate
But I wrote these lines before it was too late.
