I KNEW I WAS IN TROUBLE

I KNEW I WAS IN TROUBLE
                 by brianlion

My shadow quit following me the other day.
He told me I had to start following him from now on.
I had to go out and look for a new shadow.
I knew I was in trouble.

I had to call the census bureau the other day.
I asked them why no census taker has ever visited me.
He said I was so insignificant, the office didn have to bother.
I knew I was in trouble.

I was depressed the other day, and wanted to jump.
They sent a priest to talk me down.
He said, "On your mark, get set..."
I knew I was in trouble.

I had surgery the other day.
I heard the surgeon say out loud.
"After all we did, I can't believe this guy is still alive."
I knew I was in trouble.

I was playing charades the other day.
I started having chest pains and holding my chest.
Everyone thought that I was still playing the game.
I knew I was in trouble.

I wrote a note to my boss the other day.
I meant to write, "I really enjoy working here."
But I accidentally wrote, "I rarely enjoy working here."
I knew I was in trouble.

I woke up from a dream the other day.
I spent the entire dream working in a hot factory.
I was so tired from working in the dream, I had to call in sick.
I knew I was in trouble.

I got into a fight the other day.
Never get into a fight with a ugly person.
    They have nothing to lose.
I knew I was in trouble.

Mr Brainlion, luv your sense of humor, as we all should make fun here & then, life can be so painful at times...........:)

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.

John F. Kennedy (1917-1963) Thirty-fifth President of the USA
