    • Having Baltazar as part of my name..I will try not to bargain my legacy in shame...

I Care by Raymond Carlos Baltazar

Why am I tossing in bed
    when I hear your name,
    Spending these lonely nights
    I hardly slept at all.
    Thinking makes me feel boring
and you've got my mind roving.
    Why am I tearing apart
when I touch my aching heart,
    Sending my thoughts of love
    makes me powerless,
for inside it enclosed is a part of me.
    Dreaming profits me nothing,
and you've got my eyes winking.
    Never I realized
    how much lonely I am,
Just when I think of you.
This is just to remind me something
    I am a simple man
    with simple words to say,
    I simply care...

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
