    I believe

I believe in Love and I believe in pain.

I believe in sushine and I believe in rain.

I believe in Light and I believe darkness.

I believe in Prosperity and I believe in hardness.

I believe in good times and in times that make me sad.

I believe in laughter and in times that make me mad.

I believe that it's not what you say but what you do.

I believe that none of these made sense until I met you.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
