I Am

I Am

I am a woman.
I am scared.
I am hurting.
I am pain.
I am wonder.
I am joy.
I am love.
I am a survivor.
I am who I am and what you presume me to be.
I am a victim of what I am and that is what I know.
The who I am is new to me she surfaced from inside.
I know she is a part of me the who, the what, the why.
I hope to oneday figure it out but for now all I know.
She is someone who looks like me, but someone I don't know.

Wow I felt like I was that person. I know I was some time ago. Amazing.

deep emotions of what women go through.....loved the ending paragraph, we are always trying to figure out who we are, especially as we age. great write!

Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.

T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
