I Am An American

I Am An American

I am an American
I wonder why people hurt one another?
I hear children crying of hunger.
I see that we have to learn to have better morals.
I want there to be peace among all people.
I am an American

I am an Amercan
I pretend that I am an American flag,
gracefully waving in the breeze.
I feel proud to display the red, white and blue
which represent's our freedom.
I touch the hearts of all American's,
hoping we all stand united.
I worry that hatred will cause our nation to crumble.
I cry for the innocent victims lost for no good reason.
I am an American.

I am an American.
I understand that terrorist exists.
I say we stand together.
I believe in our motto " In God We Trust."
I hope that terrorist understand that our country is free,
all people are equal and that  we the United States are
alway's their to lend a helping hand, no matter what they do to us.
I am an American.

this is very genteel. And very customized to American's strengths, versus general humanitarianism...nice

Thank you

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
