    How I Love the Roar of Thunder

    How I love the roar of thunder
    as I lay in bed at night
    to see God crack His lightning whip
    and scare everyone in sight.
    Soon the heavens start to weep;
    into the earth their tears will seep
    bringing sweet nourishment to every plant that grows -
    the honeysuckle and the rose.
    Winter's starting to fade from view,
    sending forth life anew;
    like the tulips pushing through the ground,
    never uttering a sound.
    The robin's will sing their songs of love for everyone to hear.
    I think that's the part I like the best about this time of year.
    And as the sun begins to rise;
    as we open up our eyes...
    the morning glories will be in bloom -
    I have to say it's none too soon.

    After reading your poem I am I find that I don't want to leave that open window in my childhood bedroom that I used to think beside. But I must...there are more poems to write :) Excellent :)

    Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
