Heart on my sleeve...

Heart on my sleeve...

I wear my heart on my sleeve,
But baby can't you see,
That I really and truly am,
The angel of destruction.

I think about the look on your face,
On that very special day,
When you professed your love for me,
While down on a bended knee.

You have captured my heart,
May we never be torn apart.
Don't take my wounded mind
And be anything but kind.

Continute to treat me like a queen
and you will definetly see
That baby, this is all I can be,
When I wear my heart on my sleeve.

I like the message and the hope of this piece. It also makes me think of a speeding car racing down an icy road. But I say, Slow is steady and steady is fast, and above all always wear your seatbelt.

I completely understand what you are saying. Life is a marathon not a race!

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
