    Gone

The screams are heard between the soft spoken whispers.

Their eyes are those of the unwanted.

They consume vile with a smile and try to loath in harmony.

They muster nothing more than the pain of existing.

Their hollow presence represents the illusionist’s dream.

The opening lines of this poem send a shudder through the soul. But the title doesn't seem to fit the words. What is gone? The dream? This question needs to be answered to complete the poem.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
