Glass Colored Desert

Glass Colored Desert

Scarlet wisps touching the sky above
blue sprouts, alluring penetrating sparks
bright colors balls, ringing glass globes
twirls and bows, adorning bestows
tingling gloats, glass filled boats
chandelier's shear hanging, a cactus near
colors of sprinkle, fill the ground
mounds of joy, greens so pristine
desert critters, a glitter to see a litter
in a glass colored desert.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
