Re: Re: Picture PoetryQuote: Seymoure luciano I have yet to fall or falter up against the wind yet battling on with the heart of a searching warrior I fight against the wind for inches how hard i have battled for inches So tattered and torn yet battling on I search for my kingdom I long for my throne these scars i adorn only prove true the perils of battles i've won while making my home a home where? "you ask" In the eye of the storm somewhere inside the wild whirlwinds where thundering tempests thrive and spin I wander watching from within surving till the battles end though enveloped by violent winds I've yet to fall or falter |

Re: Re: Picture PoetryQuote: how easily engulfed by me you were so ready to be gorged upon how deceptive was my sweet allure so beckoning the call to come how meaningless you were to me so deep inside the web i've spun you sink into the dank abyss and realize you are but one amongst the many swallowed whole whom long to see the sun. I'm closing up the door your voice heard nevermore. surrender onto me. surrender onto me. |

What Lies Beneath The Sur-FaceQuote: What Lies Beneath The Sur-Face By David L. Scott What lies beneath the Sur-Face – is not what you see on one’s face, For instance a smile can be a frown – depending on the time or place. You might see a person looking sad – like their world has fallen apart, Maybe it’s because they feel for you – the one with a broken heart. You witness a child who’s crying – you sense that something is wrong, But then you see the parent’s there – not moved for these tears belong. An individual is talking no one is there – seems strange and crazy today, You inquire about and then find out – they were taking a moment to pray. Look in the mirror and see yourself – and a lot is taking place, No one knows what’s going on – just by the look on one’s face. Some faces reveal the very truth – expressing how a person may feel, Don’t assume ask if you must – what lies beneath for real? You can’t judge a book by its cover, KD |

Re: Picture PoetryI can't write like that, but I'd like to see an artist's inspiration from one of my poems...that could be a nice collaboration. |

Re: Picture PoetryThis is a grand idea. You need to put the pictures you want everyone to write about on the Challenge page. Have several people write about the same form of art. Writing as an art form about another art form is called Ekphrasis, It was used by ancient Greeks. It is a wonderful way to write a poem from sculpture, dance, paintings, drawings, music. With the internet at our disposal a URL could be left to connect with an art form other than just an image, you could use a dance, music or whatever you want as a reference point for creating a new art piece that is formed off the other art form. Even other forms of writing can be used. Or more than one art form can be used to create a single ekphrastic piece of poetry. |

Re: Re: Picture PoetryQuote: To Behold her Visage In a museum downtown My lady is found She bears many graces Disturbs many faces She is misunderstood Though her intentions are good Her visage uncertain Hid behind that curtain Are artifacts from ages Often of kings- sages Her countenance unmasking More honest then asking Were you really his queen Or some mistress in between Your shame seems unyielding To observers still keening Oh woman please understand You were born for no man To shame you to this passion Of slowly unmasking Pure depth oh goddess Stand proud, believe me Ginga copyright July 25, 2009 Thanks yungteflon for inspiring me to wriyte something beautiful today! Re: Picture PoetryA LIFE WITH MANY FACES |
The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.
Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
