RE: Julia Vinograd, the REAL Poet Laureate of Berkeley, at Moe's Books

I didn't see this post up here. Julia and her sister Debbie (a very talented artist, by the way) came with me to my reading in San Francisco last night. I was featured at the Sacred Grounds coffee shop in the Haight Ashbury district. They have been doing weekly poetry nights for over 20 years - a very eclectic venue populated largely by old hippies. Everybody loved my reading! It was especially gratifying to hear that coming from Julia whose work I have read and admired some 40 years now - Yes I have a collection of her books that goes back that far! If you every get a chance to hear her read don't miss it!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
