RE: StarDrift Returns To OPThanks, Dah! Wow, I'm not entirely sure that I rate such a formality. |

I've very much missed this poetry family, this ensemble of such truly good and visionary folk. I've been away due to the usual - some spots of hardship, survival, and just the general business of life. On the bright side, these things can sure fuel writing. At the risk of explaining a joke, in case anyone is wondering why bubbly was in quotes - Dah and myself have a running joke where one of us will occasionally write a totally over-the-top, extended, confusing, sophisticated review when someone wins, and then top it all off with some sort of champagne comment. It can be almost dangerously entertaining! My return may be only an intermittent one over the next few months. But I've already noticed some supremely sublime and savory exuberance (uh oh) of a few recent poets here - I've got some serious catching up to do. Oh, and my own stuff is not perfect by any, any measure whatsoever. The vast majority of us are here to learn from each other, find inspirations, and, most importantly, feel that pulse, that voice of the universe. God bless, Spirit light, Stard Rift ... This comment is what I am talking about—your humor is infectious! Your intelligence is a pleasure to have around! |
When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
