RE: Calling All Poets (Christmas Poems)BONZI BEAR"S CHRISTMAS Bonzi Bear was dark and he was short, His hair was curly black , his legs were stout, He was handsome , but he loved to bawl, To roll about and roar and crawl. Bonzi Bear was a tiny tot of Teche, He used to stretch and stretch and stretch. He could not reach the knob of the door, He could not , but fell on the floor. Then he would bawl and bawl and roar. Hayeee! Wahee! Wah - wah wah! Wayee! Ho –ho-ho! And tore his hair, That tiny tot, that howling Bonzi Bear. “Hush! Hush! Sh! Sh!” hushed his mother, But more she hushed, more he holler’d Wayee! Wahee! I didn’t want to fall!” Until Susie his twin sister too began to bawl. “Now look here!” said their father, “If you continue to yell and holler, Santa will bring you no gift, If you two continue to yell and sniff!” At the sound of Santa’s name, The two began their roars to tame, Yeah , Santa likes happy kids around, He does not want kids to fuss and frown. Bonzi Bear’s aunt took him to the Fair, That was held on Christmas eve, My Dear! She fed him and his twin sister, They loved the treats and the glitter. Suddenly, Bonzi Bear started to cry. Hahee! wah- wah! Tears filled his eye. “What’s wrong, Bonzi?” asked his aunt, The more she asked the more he gasped and pant’ . At last he gasped an answer,O My! “My belly is so full! “ he did cry , Tomorrow, I can’t eat Christmas dinner!” And Hahee, wah-wah! he again did holler. “And what shall I do with all those gifts, That Santa brings on his Christmas trips? I can’t play with so many all at once! I can’t hold so many in my two hands!” Said Bonzi’s aunt, “Hush, Little Man, hush! Bill next door can’t have a Christmas, His mother is very ill and dying . His father is away job hunting. Ask your dear mother and father, To allow you to ask Bill to come to dinner, And share with him your too many toys, And so give to yourself many joys. “ So Bonzi Bear stopped his crying, And home he went his parents asking. Did no more to worry nor be sorry , Nor ever again to cry Hahee! Wahee! “Ho-ho –Ho!” said Santa to Bonzi’s dad. “Your little man has grown. I am glad! He no longer screams and bawls, we see, Hahee! Wahee! Wah-wah! wahee!” Last edited by cousinsoren 12-10-2010 at 07:49:45 PM |

I know that we cannot use the Internet illustrations, and I know also that you know, therefore , I did not bother to mention it.. It's just that I love to privately illustrate my poems with some of these Internet designs for my own pleasure. I include the Internet illustrations here with the hope that artists may be inspired and motivated to illustrate along similar lines. I regret that I do not have the time nor energy to offer my own designs to be done by myself, and which I am capable of doing. Darling, you can use any picture you like and find with your lovely poems here in the forums........they always look really swell with pictures........we just can't put them in a printed book if they don't belong to one of you........sorry for the confusion darling........love asha |

Poetry is either something that lives like fire inside you or else it is nothing, an empty formalized bore around which pedants can endlessly drone their notes and explanations.
