Ins & Outs of Poetry..Help with posting Video and pics (embed code)

Ok, heres the scoop friends. Many are having problems posting videos and pictures in their posts and in the forums. Most all just get the youtube link and click the link button for their video....But that does you no good if you want them to see the video here and not have to get redirected to youtube or other places to watch it......Some are also having problems with posting pictures and getting the right size they want or not know how to size it here in the forums or in their posts on their page.........

Ok..so bare with me poet friends I am going to show you some examples of the embed code you get from youtube or other places and how to use it properly, both here in the forums and on your page. I will also show you an example of the html code for pictures and how you can change the size for a better picture on your post.......First you will have to use the link below to my page in order to see the code examples as the codes will not show up if I post it here it will just show the video or picture the code is for.........But I will try and make this simple.........Do not panic if you post your code hit submit post and the video or picture does not show up. Just hit edit and repost the code then submit again. For some reason it takes entering it twice at times in this forum to make it work. No big deal, just redo and submit..........its all good.........lol

Example video at size 640 x 385

Size 440 x 300

These two sizes are about the smallest size you can use and still have all the video functions, like clicking the icon to watch the video on full screen. If you will notice on the two smallest videos the tab does not show in the lower right corner for full size.

Size 150x150 video.......how cool is that, super size small video

I use a size like this in the sidebar of my poetry site for advertisements and such

Picture html code size

size 120x120 is about the size in the little box on your posts

size 200x188

385x250

440x385

Size 650 x 493

You can make your picture any size you want for your post by putting the code in the commentary section of your post, same goes for videos.......

Yes I can teach you how to do the links and also how to shorten the links you put in..........I will write something up on it tomorrow...even though this site is not very link friendly, we can still make it work..that is actually easy to do.......lol..loves ya asha

First example a long link:

Now lets shorten that link to make it easier:

aint that cool......you can shorten that long link to a much smaller one. by using tinyurl.com
paste your link in the box and click create link and it will give you a much smaller link to keep up with.......

as far as click able links goes the only place on here to put them is in the forums.....if you have a link you want people to be able to click on use the link tab above.....click it and paste you link in........and I never use the photo link here, it is easier to post the image code.........I will write up more on this subject tomorrow.......loves ya asha
