______________________________________________________________________ This is a nice piece. Guys. The lead singer could use that deep voice some more, but he plays a superb guiitar, whenever he plays. The girl loves her drumsticks, she is probably good with percussion,. Quite entertaining, the rest of the band , if there is nothing better around.. Last edited by cousinsoren 11-11-2010 at 06:42:28 PM |

RE: The O.P. Community's infinite playlist./A SHOTGUN WEDDING" border="0" />
*********************************************************************************************************************************Shot Gun Wedding Of a cowboy’s disaster, this story tell, A true tale of the wild, wild West; Not like them who play false roles Of dishonoured and honest men, To glory and profit by celluloid They make belief with smoking toys. ‘Tis true, he knew not disaster Till he fell in with the miner’s daughter; O’er the range he rode with her, Then the miner plied his spur To hound the jilter who had fled. . Said the old prospecting fortyniner: “You bin prospectin’ mi virtuous maid, A hones’ woman she gotta be made; Go East till you find a pries’, You gotta get him here by rail an’ beas’; Mi brother here will hol’ the reins on you, Make sure you shan’t run away, For sure you got no place to hide; Of course, you got a choice, It’s a shot-gun weddin’ Or a shot-gun killin’ !” Hi oh! Hi oh! Hi oh! Yippee! What a wedding! Her gunslinger uncle to the right of him, Her wanted brother to the left of her, A black-robed priest to the front of them, And her father standing shot-gun behind; Cowboy, you shan’t run away And there’s nowhere to hide. With so many grim faces looking, It was a jolly gloomy affair. Said the wily black-robed priest: “There gotta be no objection, I won’t ask the usual question.” Said the priest to the dude.: “The cards are stacked against you, Nix Nix not six and four this time, Marriage is a stickier than a poker game; You win some and you lose some, Your winnings and losses are never the same; If you play roulette and gamble, You’re bound to pay the price some day.” Said the priest to the bride: “Your hand is on the lasso, Brace your back in the saddle And rope the damn’ maverick down! If he thinks he is a buckin’ bronco, Be sure the cinches are tight; Ride him with boot and bridle And hobble him at night; Don’t let him go astray!” Whisper’d bloomy bride to gloomy groom: “You know I ‘aint purty, But though I am nearin’ forty, I can give you the likes o’ twenty In this business of love.” “Who givest this man in marriage?” asked the priest. “I do,” the gunslinger replied: “I do ,” said her wanted brother. Yelled the miner fortyniner And he lift’ his shot-gun on high: “ Aye! Yippee! So do I ! Whoa! Let’s tie the knot! This is yer weddin’ or yer dyin’ , Son, Lest you forgot!” “A single I do will do ,” said the priest Consoling the hounded groom : “With her gunslinger uncle on your right And her wanted brother on her left And her shot-gun father behind you, Though there are fillies on the range, You seem to have but little choice ; I need not ask do you take this woman , ( “This old horse”, he whispered to himself) For clearly you’ve been took; I must now conclude this wedding . According to Holy Book A man shall cling to his woman Or death do them part, Slip on the ring , kiss the bride And hold her to your heart.” The miner loudly cocked his shot-gun, The gunslinger swiftly crooked his arm, Her wanted brother drop’t a shoulder , He was looking rather fierce , The bride with the other ladies All started to cry; The groom quickly clasped her in his arms, The priest solemnly stoop’t to pray. Hi oh! Hi oh, Cowboys! Hi oh! Coohee! Beware to ride with a miner’s daughter; It ain’t nice a shot-gun marriage With her gunslinger uncle on your right And a wanted brother on her left And her father standing shot-gun behind; Her lasso is strangling , her corral is deep And you can’t roam the range Beyond her eagle eye And you shan’t run away; There’s no place to hide.
