comment box space numbering

It would be great to have a count down on the comment box. It is obvious it is set for a certain number of letter spaces, so it would be great to see a number that counted down as you typed. I've seen this at other sites. It would say how many characters were remaining at the bottom of the box. You would also know if you exceeded the count because it would say so. I've made a lot of comments just to see the last few lines drop off. Just a thought. That way you could reword something and still make it fit in the comment box.
