RE: Any Poetic Tattoos?I've wanted a tattoo for years and finally got it a few weeks ago. I consider it a poetic tattoo...there is symbolism and meaning behind it. I think a lot of people have some poetic symbolism in their tattoo. Mine is a dove carrying a red rose. The dove is the symbol of the Holy Spirit, as well as a symbol of peace. Having it on my skin reflects my deep love of Christ and the need for spirituality in my life. The rose is a little more cryptic...it represents sensuality, femininity and sexuality. In my spiritual walk, lust has been one of my greatest battles. The tattoo represents the struggle between the two parts of myself. However, the dove is the larger and it carries the small rose, showing that while these are both parts of who I am, the larger spirituality allows the Lord to carry me despite my temptations. |
Poetry is when an emotion has found its thought and the thought has found words.
