this is awesome, it takes me to a time, when I was hospitalized, from being ran over by a 18 wheeler, I wont get in detail to much, but the pain was so bad, that I squeezed., my moms hand so hard, that her ring was turned, and it hurt.cut her, from my pain, and she delt with it. The Lord does see, and he see our pain, and he erases it with days to come of sunshine, and freinds. we have no idea what he has in store, if we just open the door. Great Write.

Nice work, I, too, love the night, it alone is my respite, my home is far away from here. In my sleep I travel deep until I fear I will become lost in the stary distance. Past Neptune, past Pluto, too; until the sun is but a star among stars and the Earth with it moon just two specks; one blue and the other white. Live long and prosper, and may your poems reflect light as brightly as the moon. Olan

This poem is madness!! If takes the mind on a confusing re-read each line journey.-Lovin alot of the phrases here. They are so profound and unique they can stand on their own.Lets see,ill randomly just pick one..Full, all in line, madness in the stars..-Like that;WOW.-or the one right below it even.Cool stuff!-

This is classic dark, intense work. I love the creeping shadow effect it had on the reader.-Like the first time you seen Phantasm or read Salem's Lot as a kid. There is also a sixth sense depth on this one-that only certain readers will truely understand!.-I want you to move me,energy magician-freaking awsome line.Every turn of this twisted path,is powerfully mystifying!-a nice creepy 10! here.

Yes, the view from the moon. Once in a dream, I astral projected pass the moon and further past Neptune, too. There I found my tether tight and so as my star grew faint; I did return in fright, that my tether tight might snap and I in fear felt I would then every travel and never find my home. But, on second thought, now I wish that fear I did cast aside and I would have found my eternal right..

What a lovely journey you are taking me on, and you mentioned two of my old stomping grounds, Madison WI, (I'm from that area) and St. Paul, MN ( I moved to my current city from the Twin Cities, Minneapolis/St. Paul). And such great lines, the ones that caught my heart were " God bless, for his creations/ Women and autumn in their stages" and "I can see mountains in the distance/ Great sleeping giants", and the line "Creating a beautiful feeling in myself" is gorgeous, reminds me again that I am the creator of my own beautiful emotions, and also those that are not so pretty. I read this poem four times, and I got to say the line to me that was really great Fell of the leaf in which my soul falls. It seems to me when you say its you I am searching this is another person you are trying to pour your heart and soul out to yet no response just sleepless nights of worrying for her? This poem to me was fantastic, it is a poem thats chaotic yet each abstract and metaphoric line is symbolic. very strong each word shows a scream of emotional turbulance and a leap down a long roller coaster ride that will never end only to end its self with the joy ride. Very well written on this piece really catches my eye compared to the others, the one for some reason is really important to me in its form and style of writting. Great write.

so cute and touching to think back to when innocence was inside us.... i remember a little boy in pre school who had really blonde curly hair and reminded me of peter frampton (my big sister 10 years older than me had his poster on her wall) i convinced my self that he was framptons kid and used to make him play like we were in a band and we sing songs together. lol

( COMMENT EDITTED) 'Silence is golden, Silence ofter speaks louder than words, Every symbol is / has a message. Whether it be" King Queen' Jack Ace heart, diamond, spades or cllubs book , cross candle sword or crown. To send a Jamaican a black heart sign is a warning to write his will, plan his funeral or run..... "We gonna get you!" growls a black heart sign. Tell a man or woman that he or she has a black heart, is a grievous insult. WordSlinger should not be allowed to get away with this trick--lol. He is probably serious! ....lol But serious about what? He owes the world an explanation or probably an apology. Many are expected to protest that this "black heart"" poem does not deserve a rating 10+ .....lol! But that is what is deserves!

Word Slinger/ there is something I'd like to ask about this poem that I don't understand; I'm guessing the opening line has something to do with ages. I'm not at all sure about that. Maybe you could explain that to me. I really enjoy everything else about the poem: the shifts in metaphor and intent are nicely done. it is a wonderful didactic presentation. I've also written poems about my own children over the years at different stages in the development of their lives from birth to them becoming adults. I feel this is a very strong poem in its unique didatic presentation. Again thanx for sharing it with all of us.

I really liked this poem, ws... strong, but subtle message underlying. It's very thought-provoking. I particularly loved the lines: "I see the truth in the sunset, when it rises it is victory" "Alot of things can take you down, so you know what's up?" "Objects in the sky are larger than they seem" God is in control, so we have nothing to fear about what tomorrow brings, where we go when we die; God is bigger than our problems. Love this!!!

"Hatred" is a strong word and not one we want to admit we may have felt, but if and when it comes, you've got to fight like the devil to get rid of it - if, like you say, you don't want it to consume you. I've been there and prayer also brought me through. Very interesting, poignant read that shows the power of prayer. Keep it up.

You seek answers... what anyone needs to know in the asylum, in war, in the world is that it's kill or be killed. And love? it's to lay down one's life for his brother. Who is your brother? everyone..... including the one you don't know. Now that truly is a dilemma. Your poem is deep and thought provoking. It leaves one thinking that there should be more. Lacking in transition which would have made the flow better. Overall it was nice. Liked it!

Ha ha! Funny and sad and true! There are some things in life that are just too poignant and ironic to not write about. I used to have hamsters and learned early alot about life and death and even matricide from those poor little monsters. this poem brings is all back. I really like this poem and how you are able to say alot in just a few words. I think the ability to speak volumes in small spaces of print is what makes poetry so uniique, and critical to the world of literature. Poetry condences our thoughts, feeling and perceptions into the most critical of our sentiments. This poen says it all so well!

I wish truth were a bowl of fresh fruit that had an infinite shelf life. I wish it were something, which on sight would be recognized and partaken of in a state of universal agreement and harmony. Our oneness with the universe must, at best be described as "We're all in the same boat ... but hope to see land soon.!" Mulder and Sculley knew that the TRUTH was out there ... somewhere. Unfortunately it won't be discovered in a secret place - or the smile on our face - or the thoughts we embrace ...

Interesting concept! To reconnect with Divinity, look in a mirror and smile, for we are that which we seek: energy-absolute; eternity is, always, that which we are, there is no other; heaven (or hell) is created within our thoughts. All creation comes from within, not from without: nothing is apart from us. Nice poem!

Nice poem slinger I think you mean (breathe) not breath in conjunction with the pronoun (you). And I think it's (you're) in (your loved alive). I like the closure on the poem (meeting you in eternity in the blink of an eye) even if it is a cliche'. inferring right now is part of eternity.

Liked it!

John, My Friend, it seems to me: You do not look at the world through a looking glass, like ordnary men; Nor through a telescope to be far removed from them; You delve the depths where mere painters of portrait and acenes cannot go; You paint with strong strokes of pen, And words of colours dark and bright, D ance, weep, groan, laugh, give birth, glimmer and glow. Ha ha! Funny and sad and true! There are some things in life that are just too poignant and ironic to not write about. I used to have hamsters and learned early alot about life and death and even matricide from those poor little monsters. this poem brings is all back. Not sure it is an experience I want my son to have but being a boy he is already transfixed by the little mice in the pet shop window so his turn is proably coming. Thanks! Tana

Nice poem!

Ah-ah! Hear ye! A real poet speaks in the market place! I love it! A bit egoistic , yes! Somewhat bombastic , yes! But all real poets - poets conceived in the womb- share this consciousness of self. "Poets were born not made. Quoting from the English poet, Milton, WordSlinger is "A poet soaring n the high regions of his fancies with his garland and and singing robes about him." His sentiments and consciousness of his creative genius is common to all true poets. A literary critic refers to

He is capable of singing a thousand descriptive phrases in a single line. HIs musicality is unique, The scenery of

Oh shit!!!LMAO!!! You've immortalized a great American institution, the Port O'San shitboxes! Feces and fecal matter in general, are underatted and underused as poetic themes-see Dante's Inferno! In the words of Confucious; "Men who write on shithouse walls...Roll their shit in little balls...Those who read these words of wit...Eat those little balls of shit!" Now that is what I call "perfect" poetry!!! LOLOL

Friday March 13, 2009. I discovered this poem only this morning at 3.43 a.m. Strangely enough, I created "SUPREME" more or less on the same theme just a week ago. This poem of WordSlinger is hymnal in nature, very worshipful in structure; "Come to the Supreme Court, God is revealed, You can be healed" In "SUPREME" GOd asksm"What hav eyou done for yourself?" WordSlinger's poem is dramatic and sublime. Its message is re-assuring"God is revealed , You can be healed" I invite you to read both

Wow! Discount previous imperfect comment! The printer's devil intervened! Wow! This poem captures the workings of insanity or psychosis. The poem makes a hard statement and makes it well. But, being more of a traditionalist, I would like to see a little more esprit and balance in the wording and meter, perhaps even a satirical twist here and there. That's just opinion, not criticism.

Comment for My Way
There are two typographical errors which detract slightly: "to much pain" instesd of "too much pain" and "Never now" instead of "Never know". The third stanza is intriquing. It seems to suggest that anger subsides or is appeased as soon as an angry person has got the other party to please him or her. This poem is worth a 9.0 rrating of excellence.

Rather dramatic , semi-violent theme. Theme of anger is brilliantly and effective sustained by usr of fast monosyllabic words, "heave" , "stand", "take", "risk" etc. Not clear what the poet is getting at in the third stanza. He probably is creating an air of confusion which normally happens to an angry person. "Anger" is well enacted in this poem. Perfectly crafted and metrically correct rhythmic lines throughout.

i dont knoe that this one grabbed me the right way but honestly it was an intresting read the entanglement of a christian holiday based on pagan beliefs with actual paganism the only thing that didnt quite sit right was the burning times canotation.

Hey! This humorous poem deserves a 8.5 rating. The rating scale "Rate Poem" with those ten strokes seem to have its own opinion, it simply refuuses to go beyond 5.5. LOL. Anyhow, the rating is 8.5.

Wodslnger is a master of the craft. He paints with deep feelng. One has had to experience agony to write agonistically, Where did this poet spend his "sun burn" vacation? Some place in the tropics? Jamaica, Cuba, Bahamas, where??

I like the metaphysical intonations of this poem. Music of the spheres-like vibrations. What I specially like about metaphysical poetry is that you don't have to interpret as the poet sees or feels , that if you tbink you know what the poet see

Wordslinger// Nice poem and great use of color to form internal words and lines making three layers within the poem. Nice conceptual piece, very concrete in nature. I like it a lot. The visual stimulation in the poem does nice things. The content as a complete love poem is also very strong as well. Quite a concept within it's self. Thanx for sharing the poem. // A poet friend// RH Peat
