Re: Start an OP radio show?

that could go hand-in-hand with the old "record the poems" thread! and heck, most of my good poems are songs anyway...

This get's Brett's stamp of satisfaction.

Re: Start an OP radio show?

Ok I did some thinking, I do know that my nearsest colleges have poetry shows.
I'll contact the administrators of these stations.
See what ya do is ask them to post a message
on this subject in the school for a volunteer dj.
To do a show maybe 1/2 hour or an hour.
So I'll do my best to get this going in Washington state.
So we need 49 more reprentatives from the other states.

I'll do this Saturday.
And Bret you are right, OP needs to start doing the recording uploads and all.
It really has to be monitored, Universities wont take no shit.

What do they talk about on these Poetry shows? Specifically I mean... how is the show structured?

Re: Start an OP radio show?

They read poetry old and new, and give information on the writers.
I think it would be a good idea.
Most schools are internet radio ready also, so you can link up to them as well.
Help me come up with a letter, and tomorrow, I'll do my part in Washington State.
MichaelMcClain can take on NY.
The schools will talk about if, and see if anyone there would be interested in the project of being the DJ.
They get graded for it. Also English students may want to.
It's worth a shot, also it will get more people here anyway.
Oh what do ya think of the Ballon idea, my people love it. but it should be on
OP 1st book release day.

Re: Start an OP radio show?

Couldnt you do like NPR, where differant poets each get a block of time, be it 1 hour or 2 hours. The host poet could have guest poets on to discuss and read thier poetry and influences. They could play music relevant to the topic at hand or just to break things up. It could work.
