    For All The Wrong Reasons

    For All The Wrong Reasons

You said you needed a friend
And I held out my hand-
    For all the wrong reasons

You said you needed someone to care
    And I Did-
    For all the wrong reasons

You said you needed someone to Love you
And I said that I did-
    For all the wrong reasons

You said you needed me forever
    But I had to go
    For all the wrong reasons

    Now the seasons have passed
    I’m sitting here looking back-

Would it have made any difference?
Had I but only loved you -
    For all the Right Reasons.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
