    Expectations

The clock doesnt tick or tock
    It thunders each second
    With each minute
    Like some impending doom
Sometimes I convince myself I am deaf
    For all this silence.....
Yes I'm deaf! I must be!
For I never hear you !

But every breath is sucked from lungs
    Too empty to scream aymore
    To waste breathe
    Am I mute,?oh how I must be
For you never hear the break
In my voice , cracks that even the most skilled  cant repair, cannot hear lump in throat
Or a sob catch again and again
    With my unworthy expectations

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
