Dragyn's Flight

Dragyn's Flight

Red wings beat against the sky,
Flame bright against the night,
A haunting, but ancient flight,
Dark knight and Dragyn's bite.

Ancient of ancient dreams,
Filling their mystic eyes.
Never breaking the sacred ties,
Between a Dragon and the soft blue skies.

Owls hoot and witches' cackle,
Haunting light glinting off the sacrifice's blood,
Spilt over the temple's great alter,
A legendary knight's steps never falter.

Mythic beasts filling the skies,
Blocking out the great sun,
Serpentine angels fulfilling gothic dreams.

Mystic chanting rising over the Dragyn's roar,
Eerie through the moondusted night,
Dragyn flame burning the ground,
Roasting their midnight snacks,
For the draclings first feed.

I totally loved this poem I can almost see the dragon in flight from your words. You are a wonderful poet.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
