Don't Ask
Excuse my agression.
Caught in the middle of this recession.
Bills piled to the ceiling;
How in the hell do you think I'm feeling?
Bow in my back,
Trying to save this shack.
Looked out the door as they were posting the sign.
Couldn't get my money up in time.
Pardon my seat. Too weak to stand.
Tired from trying to do the best I can.
Went to the store for a quart of milk.
Didn't even have enough to buy a sip.
Forgive my profanity.
Trying to maintain my sanity.
Just left the unemployment line.
Got there an hour early. Still not on time.
Price of gas came tumbling down.
Right after my feet ended up on the ground.
Hid my car on the side of the house.
Got ratted out by the cat and the mouse.
Too worried to sleep. Too weary to rest.
How in the hell am I gonna get out of this mess?
So, if you really don't want to hear what I have to say.
Please don't ask me how I'm doing today.
