Distance
Far away
in a mind so cold
there is a memory of you.
I close my eyes pretending not to see
the gleam of your teeth
between two lips of beauty.
Your voice sits atop my heart
telling me to stop
and remember that moment, under the sky,
when you and I became one.
I beg my soul to forget
the wonderful tapestry that you've created
to hang inside it's walls.
I will instead remember the scars you have caused.
I will not love you.
I will not cherish any more kisses.
I will not hold my breath
and wait for you to say my name.
