    Debt

    my friend found me
she found me on the web
    and she said hey man
    do you also have debt

    and I said lady
I got more than I can pay
    but not with money
    the only other way

    my soul is sick now
    and its troubling others
    and I ask how
I could even stab my brother

    but I can’t help me
the path is far too hard
and I can never be a man
    I’m far too gone

    give me peace god
let my life just fade away
I need to leave this world
    and live another day

    somewhere else man
    anywhere but here
just let me die just let me die
I hear the end with my ear

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
