    Davila

Sleep, my friend, in your field of clovers,

    Coveted by baby’s breath.

The green pasture suits you well,

I hope you have a good rest.

How does it feel for your soul to be free,

    Free to wonder this plane?

How does it feel to be missed, to be loved,

    To be remembered without strain?

You’ve made an impact on the lives of many,

    Including me, myself, and I.

It’s time for you to slumber now,

    Please go ahead and try.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
