Dark Desire

Dark Desire

Moon of blood, eternal night and shadows,

She is my darkest desire, my soul.

She shares the shadows and the night with me,

How I long for her touch, her embrace.

To feel once again her soul next to mine,

I close my eyes and it is if she is with me.

Her blood is in my veins, her heart beating with mine.

Of lost bloodlines, in death still lurks a change.

Yet in death, she has given me new life and of all

the lost souls that roam in the darkness,

We found each other in the shadows.

And of all the darkened souls that take shape in the mist,

Brooding on blood thirst,

We are not so strange.

Our hunger is satiated by each other,

for it is each other’s souls that we hunger.

And as fierce as life’s unfailing darkness,

The flesh of the vessel shall die.

Yet time carries the soul through eternity,

And my soul shall always be with hers.

Hard core, RevJake. Sounds like you hooked up with the queen of the damned. Watch your step, bro. I hear she's REALLY high maintenance. Ha ha. Sharp work!

A testament to true undying love written not by the hand, but by the soul. I can feel what he is feeling and it is as deep and rich as blood.

Thank you for the kind words. I read some of your poems. They are just perfect.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
