DADDY'S BEAR

HE IS OLD AND THATHERED AND TORN
HE'S BEEN SEWN UP WHERE HE IS WORN

HE WAS BORN INTHE SUMMER OF SEVENTY SEVEN
HE CAME DOWN HERE FROM HEAVEN

HE'S BEEN AROUND THE WORLD
FROM HOUSTON TO DALLAS TO CINCINNATI AND BACK
HE BELONG TO YOUR DAD MY SON NAMED JACK

HE WAS TUCKED IN WITH LOVE AND HELD ONTO TIGHT TO COMFORT MY SON IN THE DARK NITE

HE WILL DO THE SAME FOR YOU KALLYSUE
HE IS YOUR TO KEEP TO LOVE AND CARE
IF YOU WILL ONLY BE THERE FOR DADDY'S BEAR.

The true philosopher and the true poet are one, and a beauty, which is truth, and a truth, which is beauty, is the aim of both.

Ralph Waldo Emerson, American Poet (1803-1882)
