    Born

    wishing i was never born
so many lives i've touched and torn
    have endured several storms, reaching
deep into myself, understanding my blessings
    so i'm holding on.

How could i? Do i wish I was never born?
This wish is obserd, looking as my boys,
    they center my world.
    So why make bad choices, causing waves in our ocean;
Lord give me strength to focus.

Grasping on to hope, back against the ropes
and the only way I'll fold is
if God himself knocks me out
    cold.

Suppose what i exposed in that brief
thought was that without me, there wouldn't
exist a lot of different people, situations or
circumstances.  So i stand here firm looking
out younder; nolonger wishing i was never
    Born.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
