~BLESS THE CHILDREN~

~BLESS THE CHILDREN~

We take for granted everyday,

the blessings God has sent our way;

As spoiled brats, we want much more,

than what was given by the Lord.

~

Upon our Television screens,

are adds of children, all in need;

We tend to turn our backs on them,

ignoring everything that’s said.

~

Believing others hear their plea’s,

our conscience is somehow appeased;

Yet in our heart of hearts we know,

most of these children won’t grow old.

~

It only cost but cents per day,

to help a child in dismay;

I too turn of my T.V. set,

without remorse, with no regrets.

~

I wonder, if they all were mine,

would I be begging for a dime;

And then the answer set me free,

I’d pray for you, and them, and me.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read and comment on my work. I truly appreciate it...Hugz...Jillian

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
