    BLEEDING IN THE RAIN

    BLEEDING IN THE RAIN

Life is but a walk in the pouring rain
Staggering down a sad lonely road
I reach out blindly into the storm
But alas, there is no hand to hold

As the darkness slowly engulfs me
Leaving little room for all my fears
Sadness has become a way of life
And no one but I, feel all my tears

I travel along the path to nowhere
Avoiding all who think this an act
For each step that I move forward
Life just pushes me two steps back

I remember back to warmer times
Their visions, fading from my mind
I search my soul for lost happiness
In vain I try, as still none can I find

No one is here to see my sorrows
I struggled to stand and start again
This proves to be an act of futility
I cry as my soul bleeds in the rain

Hey, chir up. It is all way too dark. You are good poet and your other poems at least have a hope, but not this one.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
