Beautiful Lies

Beautiful Lies

The words you speak are untrue
Empty and flat
Falling from your tongue with ease
Deceiving my hungry ears
With beautiful lies
Tell me more
Say those words I long to hear
Though I know you don't mean them
My heart still skips from their false beauty
I'm not naive
Nor ignorant to the facts
Simply hung up
By this beautiful liar
And his beatiful lies

Sometimes when you get past the fog of it all, only the lies remain. Good poem!

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
