    BACKSTAB FRIEND

I CAN NOT DESCRIBE THE PAIN IN MY HEART
HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME FROM THE START

I DID NOT KNOW YOU VERY WELL
YOU SEEMED HAPPY AND I COULD NOT TELL

I THOUGHT YOU WANTED A FRIEND
    WHY DID YOU PRETEND

YOU TOLD ME A SECRET THAT WAS BIG
I DID NOT JUDGE YOU OR GIVE YOU A DIG

I GUESS I SHOULD HAVE GUESSED WHEN YOU NEVER CALLED
THAT WAS THE HINT I RECALL

SO ITS OVER AND I HAVE TO START AGAIN
TO FIND ANOTHER TO CALL FRIEND

Wow. It seems to me as if your friend is somewhat of a jerk. I would not want to be friends with someone like that. Good job for putting how you felt into a poem. Not a lot of people can do that.

Poetry is not an expression of the party line. It's that time of night, lying in bed, thinking what you really think, making the private world public, that's what the poet does.

    Allen Ginsberg (1926-1997) U.S. poet.
