awake, o muse
awake, o muse, let’s once more fly
the verdant valleys below the sky,
let’s bathe eternal in love’s sweet rain
and wash our wounds to dull the pain.
awake, o muse, let’s once more sing
the songs of yore that bubble like spring,
let’s float along old melodious strains
and gingerly gather blooms again.
awake, o muse, let’s once more dwell
above the clouds we knew so well;
and resting there our thoughts abide,
to live in peace and age defied.
the verdant valleys below the sky,
let’s bathe eternal in love’s sweet rain
and wash our wounds to dull the pain.
awake, o muse, let’s once more sing
the songs of yore that bubble like spring,
let’s float along old melodious strains
and gingerly gather blooms again.
awake, o muse, let’s once more dwell
above the clouds we knew so well;
and resting there our thoughts abide,
to live in peace and age defied.
