As You Wish
With each coming day
She becomes more and more lost
Letting her soul be lead by a chain
“Mother what do I want to do today?”
Is the morning reply
“You want to go to school
be the best in your class
then continue on to be a world famous gymnast"
The mother would reply
With a gleam in her eye
“So I don’t want to act?”
Was the new morning quest
The mothers goal always changing
“I never was very flexible
Their flaying limbs!
So will you.
You just want to experience everything!
don’t you.”
As normal the only thing the young girl would say
“Yes mother”
And go on her mother’s own way
The mother watches and squirms with delight
As her daughter succeeds
in a way she never could.
The mother believed
‘that could’ve been me’
Then quickly turns bitter from love
‘What else haven’t I done?
That I thought would be fun?'
As she thinks of tomorrows new task.
