AS YOU SLEEP
AS YOU LAY SLEEPING, I WAS WATCHING YOU
HEARING YOUR BREATHE, WATCHING THE RISE
AND FALL OF YOUR CHEST AND LOVING YOU
YOU SEEM SO UNTOUCHED BY LIFE WITH YOUR
EYES CLOSED.
BUT ONCE AWAKE, BEHIND YOUR EYES I CAN
SEE REAL DEEP....
OF YOUR PAST I DO NOT KNOW
IT'S ONLY YOUR PRESENT AND FUTURE I WANT TO SHOW
A LIFETIME OF HUGS, KISSES AND EMBRACE
NOT OF LOST TEARS AND LOVE WITHOUT A TRACE
AS YOU LAY SLEEPING, I WAS WATCHING YOU
TRYING TO FIGURE OUT JUST WHAT TO SAY OR DO
HOW I'D SLEEP IN THAT BIG OL' BED
OH, HELL, MY EYES ARE GETTING RED
AS YOU SLEEP, I WAS WATCHING YOU
AND IF YOU EVER LEFT
I WOULD HURT AND CRY
FOR YOU HONEY, I WILL NEVER WANT TO
SAY GOOD-BYE!
