    Poem Commentary

I wrote this poem after a 9 month court battle with my ex-husband.  My kids were 15 and 17. My heart was torn.  Didn't feel like I had much to live for so I went trucking and realized a lot of things while on the road.  You never stop being a Mom.  They are back in my life and I am now a Grandma.  God works in mysterious ways.

    Am I Still A Mom

    I was a mother once
to a girl and two boys.
    My life was complete
    I had happiness and joy.

    You remember the first day
    they started walking.
    You remember the first day
    they started talking.

    You watch them grow
    you watch them play.
    You watch them mature
    in every way.

    Then one day
    my life was shattered.
    Kids were taken
    nothing else mattered.

    Am I still a mom?
    Don't feel like one.
    I lost my little girl
    and my two sons.
