    Alone

    She's sitting there,
    she feels so alone.
    Listening to her mother drone.
    She can't concentrate,
    she wishes he were here.
    But he's not,
    He's dead.
Lying alone in the ground somewhere.
Peacefully resting for all of eternity.
    Never to be seen again.
    She's all alone.

When power leads man towards arrogance, poetry reminds him of his limitations. When power narrows the area of man's concern, poetry reminds him of the richness and diversity of existence. When power corrupts, poetry cleanses.
