All I Am
Arms, hold me closely, my own arms, my will
Heart, keeps on beating, don’t waiver, don’t spill
Now until I figure out who else to hold me close
I control these fragile dreams, and which ones to expose
I ponder, I hate, I wonder, I wait
I cannot keep these knees bent, not forever, in this state
Legs keep on running, don’t buckle, be strong
Lungs, withstand the pressure of duress, it might be long
I try to keep composure, with all that I’m made of
I try to understand the limits life has placed on love
Patience might be virtue, so I often stand abeyance
But I give into my recollect, of a previous song and dance
I love without a reason, I care without a cause
I cling to every word you say, even marvel of your flaws
So eyes remain affixed about her beauty not her face
And ears remain in tune, account for every single trace
Of a voice that I hear clearly though my own has fell apart
To the company of her listening to the beating of my heart
Body remain warm, not to give into the cold
Mind remain oblivious to what lies you may be told
For she is worth the waiting, the bounties, the trials,
So be the friend in waiting, through heartache and smiles.
