A New Love
I have found a new love proliferating from the nucleus of my mind,
describing a scene transposed onto a visible plane
to linger to last breath,
a vision marking the beginning of my journey.
I love the wind as it blows through the trees,
the rustle of fall leaves sets me free.
The miracle that is placed before me grandiose,
effervescent,
I am at peace savoring this banquet.
Feeling delight, my senses reel, the pure mountain air moistened by snow packed peaks,
mingles flavors to connect with each,
creating a appetizing mixture
ingested with each breath I take.
The stream before me mirrors as wide as I am tall, transports water confined by its banks,
embracing, as the loving arms of a mother,
allowing a quick, yet, orderly flow to rivers mating.
Trout lazily swim up stream,
occasionally partake in the bounty that
satisfies their every need.
A pair near my bank, watch me, as guardians
protecting their domain against invasion.
As I continue my journey, they follow until I am
no longer in sight, then return to foraging mid stream.
Animals, as well as insects, live in harmony,
no species allowed to dominate unchecked,
murderously maintained at a level balanced
as nature prescribed.
I have found a new love,
she and I shall continue unto eternity.
