A Lonely Shadow I Have Become
Shadows lurking with your face. But it is only a shadow.
I need more than a shadow to hold to fill this void because I miss you.
What was that the wind spoke? I do believe it was your name.
Like the branch banging against my window on a stormy night causing apprehension.
So unsettled I hunker down with only a pillow to hug.
The wind whispers your name again. Now the tears unbroken stream down.
My God had to take you, you belong to Him. For only a moment you were mine.
But those moments like shadows follow me around. Never very far.
Now only in eternity can I hope.
For it is there we will be forever together. The darkness dissolved.
When all shadows are transformed and into your living embrace I run.
