Missing the OP Community

It's so sad what has happened to this community. I hope other's have found great new communities to post their writings in. I visit very rarely to this site, but for whatever reason it is still where I like to post my poetry. Even without any point to the contests...

I will still continue to visit this place off and on. I hope others do as well.

As for writing site's ~ my favorite is fanstory. I know that's not for everyone, because it is not free...

Even though I post most my new writings on fanstory. I prefer the OP for my poetry, and will continue to post those here.

I, too, like OP. I am surprized it is still here. I joined fanstory to see what it is about.

I think you'll enjoy it. I tried looking you up there but saw you hadn't posted anything yet. I'll keep an eye out for you. It's a cool community - but yeah, the OP was awesome for a long time... so I check in occasionally to see what the final outcome is.

RE: Missing the OP Community

alot of the op community has reconnected at 21stcenturypoets.com

come check it out... give it a spin... still in developmental stages but all of the core aspects of the site are in place... Groups/Forums/School Of Poetry/Poets Of Blood ect... The site is designed and operated by me and mindnumbing (formally of op)

Like you said. Fanstory costs. I didn't get warm fuzzies from it. It's not that cheap either. Hmmmmm

I will try 21stcenturypoets.com. smile

Come one, come all, come poets, readers, critics, come and
play at "www.21stcenturypoets" where many former OP members
are gathering and a lot of new poets too.

RE: Missing the OP Community

I'm on 21st century poets. Maybe I just haven't figured out quite how to navigate that site yet. Fanstory isn't for everyone ~ I like it. I like contests, and there are many there... My focus on that site is short stories. I post hardly any poems there. It has done wonders for helping me develop my short stories though, because some people are dreadfully honest when they don't like something there, but it teaches me what to improve on. I prefer different communities for my poems.

RE: Missing the OP Community

21st century is the only other poetry place I check into ever so often... like you Kdarcy, I will continue to check in here off and on, as long as it's still standing.

A poem begins as a lump in the throat, a sense of wrong, a homesickness, a lovesickness. It finds the thought and the thought finds the words.

Robert Frost (1875-1963) American Poet.
