Why do we continue to post poems for contestIt seems kinda sad to see all the effort going into posting poems for the weekly contest, A waste of time now that no one is reading them, voting on them and the idea of another book being made is just dust in the wind, no one has won every week, No One!!!! I say get out the life vest and jump,, what are they waiting for, is there and expiration date when the site will just shut down from lack of payment...We have been left stranded in a ship of FOOLS, the realm is being over run with crazies and the warden left the gate open, and all the trash blew in. this once was a grand site, a great idea, all gone sour, when it gets dark you should see a lite of hope in the distance, ah but this isn't a fairy tale, this is real, So all we can do is wait and watch, as the final curtain drops, just my opinion. the only people to blame is OP. |

It is slowly turning into a wonderful place. Many poets from here are already there. If you wish, private message me your email and I shall email you with more reasons for you to join... |

I am going there also, My only reason for writing what I did was to see if the powers that be would react, they have not, I have been here from the begining and it is a shame that a great site as this has fallen on bad times, I will keep my works on here till the end....PHOENIX |

RE: Why do we continue to post poems for contestPffft silly writers jump ship because of a minor wave. I think the contest means little to being noticed by true blue publishers. Note the sales on self published poetry and friend nominated poetry are lean to none. Most great poets remained unnoticed until years and years after they shared and the fact is they are truly very good. I as most writers desire one day to reside in name beside the greats and in this as they is a don't give up attitude. Run from and run to what. Stay, write, and share! Maybe someday you will be noticed for more than writing good poetry! FYI I read a book once about animals running the farm hehehe swine or not I'm having bacon and beef and chicken. O Ok and veggies too. hehehe! Sweet marinade!!! |

RE: Why do we continue to post poems for contestA lass your wrong my friend. I have been hear as well through a long time and I have seen how the how the bpowers that be rule this site and how they deal out punishment or lack of it to others that do disrespect other poets. I have seen them lie to not only some but all poets here then remain silent and unconcerned with the emotional tarrants of others. I havesen them take a deaf ear to most of us. I have seen them tak our work and try to line thier own pocket to justify this site. I was dooped as we all were. If we are going to have a place about poets we should go to a place that is ran by poets for only our breed or kindred spirits will see us for what we really are. I left and am starting to write again after a long hieatas. I love this place I love the poets I met here but I hate being used and if you truely feel that then go some place where you feel better about the site and the poets themselves. Take it as you see it Plot121 AkA Robert... |

RE: Why do we continue to post poems for contestI totally agree. I was here when the site was first up and and running along with Phoenix9. The site used to be a place where everyone was basically family, we stayed up chatting, reviewing and rating eacothers work, and now......nothing. |

RE: Why do we continue to post poems for contestLady and Phoenix9, I for one are glad you're still here. The comment family does strike a cord tho, and within this is, is it my family whom stands by my side? If I ran from my brothers and sisters would I truly be family? If we stay will they come back? I am sad some have left but even in death there is the possibility of new beginning. I honestly don't see a padding of wallets or the stealing of good works just to keep a site running. Managing through hard times has its setbacks. We all know that. Sales whether via adds or by good works has kept this up this long and I am proud of this site for hanging in there during tough times. Pffft jumping ship means bye bye and or do you need a towel. I'm glad you both spoke up without threats or finger pointing blame. I am a nobody that has never been published nor do I really care for what I write was free within me and to be honest it would be a shame to expect compensation. If people leave then call it winter for spring as promised follows! . |

RE: JUST CAUSEHere's my most recent poem. |
Poetry is not a turning loose of emotion, but an escape from emotion.
T. S. Eliot (1888-1965) American-English poet and playwright.
