Angel Tears (Suicide Is A Soft Serenade)

This will be my final post. I have wanted to get this story written for quite some time. I hope I've painted a very vivid picture of a dark period experienced in life. I'd like to thank those who read it earlier and commented. This is dedicated to all the friends I've made on OP and a heartfelt thank you for all you've done for me. It's is a wonderful feeling to have something you've created be appreciated. Thank All Of YOU..... Tom
.
Angel Tears (Suicide is a Soft Serenade)

With forehead pressed to cooling glass,
Outside red tail lights fade.
He's shattered by the knowledge of
his life's complete charade.
In silence, a tear falls unnoticed.
Alone, he has one thing to fear.
Though no one is near,
It's a voice he can hear.
Suicide, is a soft serenade.

A knot will form within his chest.
Stealing his breath away.
It's at this time, a broken man
will find the time to pray.
In silence, he holds a revolver.
Alone, in his own maquerade.
The voice, his muse and reminder.
Suicide, is a soft serenade.

On bended knee, he'll cry out.
"Oh, Father hear my plea!
Let me know you're listening!
Would you make time for me?
I know I'm no one special.
But, all I had is gone.
I'm asking for a miracle.
One reason to go on."

Cold steel will reveal his answer.
No miracle sign on the way.
A bullet is chambered and ready.
God must have been busy today.
In silence, He'll raise the revolver
Alone, a decision is made.
His hands start to shake
One last step to take.
Suicide, is a soft serenade.

There is that darkest moment
when...
Life has no reason, why.
An angel's voice will whisper...
"Daddy, please don't cry."
Her hand will touch his shoulder.
The pistol...disappears.
That siren's spell is broken with
the sight of angel tears.
In silence, He'll hold his young daughter.
God's gift and a miracle, done.
What he'd had all-along,
life's lyrical song.
Together, tears mingle as one.
