RE: Can You See The Future of OPOne idea, or vision if you like for the future, is opening local chapters throughout the country, perhaps one in each state and or major city. I have been contacting people around florida with the idea and got some interest. To get together and have local meeting, poetry readings, I can forsee having at least one in everystate and then once a year having a big poetry convention where all the local chapters come together and meet, wow that would be a blast to meet poets from across the country. To meet your poet friends, the people in the computer, who you have known and commented on thier poetry and they yours, talked back and forth for hours, chatted online all night with, and to finally meet these people in real life would just be admazing!!! Now this would be a great idea, who knows what the future holds but the possibilities are endless. RE: Can You See The Future of OPNOw this idea has got my imagiation into high gear, to do it right we will need more than a thread, we will need our own forum. We can create an opening thread explaining the purpose and then one thread fro each of the fifty states and why stop with just the US lets go global and also have threads of other countries, the sky is the limit with this idea. Lets put together a team to get it going, I think papa's angels ca be a start point and we cna expand from there, lets pull our resources and get it going, I am willing to be the contact for the florida chapter and will start to put together my chapter. Any other takers??? Angel out |

RE: Can You See The Future of OPThis is a wonderful idea; let's all join together in making the dream come true. I attend a group here in PA; they meet and do what you are attempting. A writing professor from the local University was kind enough to put such a forum in motion. I'm certain the group he has brought together and nurtured would welcome the opportunity to join with OPs talented writers. It's a small group of wonderful folks from all walks of life. I have shared OPs site with them. I don't believe any of them have joined but many of them enjoy reading the wonderful posts on OP's site..If I can do anything to assist please keep me posted. Thanks to all the wonderful folks at OP for your talent, light and nurturing. |

RE: Can You See The Future of OPI proposed the idea to papa ealier and he thought it was a great idea, he said he would propose it to the board and would get back to me, but didn't think it would be a problem. So please all stay tuned and spread the word. I think if we do this the right way this could blow up our site beyound our wildest imagination, just imagine active chapters in all 50 states and then we can spread globally and once a year come together for a OP poetry convention where the winners of the contest could do live poetry readings, maybe awards, who knows the sky is the limit with this one. I will keep you aprised as soon as the idea is approved and we come up with a stragedy to put it into action. Perhaps I will create a thread soon on the ins and outs of OP for everyone to post your thoughts and ideas and a palce to show your support, we can then pool all the ideas together and put it into action. A think tank, a place to brain storm, hmm... I don't think I am the first to mention this idea but I am the first to come up with a way to put it into action and make it a reality.
