2poemsforu A fun and New poetry feature

HI all OP poets!
This is a new page that can be utilized by OP poets. Teardrops and ginga are the moderators. One day we got chatting and decided to share some ideas. I (ginga), said to Teardrops, "Wouldn't it be fun to display 2 poems on one page written by 2 different OP poets?" We agreed and 2poemsforu was born. We are posting our 2 poems here simultaneously for all to enjoy. They are titled: "Moonlight Madness" and "The Swimmer." We feel that there is a common thread concerning the joy of swimming in the ocean and both contain tension and desire, yet in different ways. We invite poets to come and submit poems to be posted starting Sept 1st. We want to post 2 poems written by 2 different OP poets and post them together. We ask only that the 2 poets contact one another and agree to this. Once they have chosen 1 poem each they will send it Private Message to 2poemsforu These 2 poems would have to have some similarities. It could be the genre, writing style, emotions, tone/mood, character(s), events or philosophies. Submissions must contain the username of the poet, the title of the poem, and the other poet's username who is posting alongside them. It would be nice if poet(s) included a written commentary to be included in the commentary section, although that is not required. First come first posted for September. Poets, please submit the 2 poems fairly close in time period meaning on the same day, The deadline for submissions for September is August 30th. This is NOT a contest or competition. Ratings will be turned off. Comments are welcome. We kindly ask for submissions/comments that are not vulgar or offensive to others here on OP. This feature will last for as long as there is interest and commentators to run it. Right now Teardrops and ginga are excited about getting this onboard! Have fun and put 2poemsforu on your friends list. Hope to see one of your poems in the mailbox!

Yes that's what you do. First go to the page and read the BIO instructions. Then read the 2 poems that are posted as an example of how to post. Read the commentary above those 2 poems: The Swimmer/Moonlight Madness. The idea is two get permission from another OP poet to submit with. This is a way to collaborate. No singleton poems will be posted, also no 2 poems written by the same poet. The incentive is to get together and share with others.Good luck and happy writing!

I suggest that you find poems similar to your own, and then alert that poet to this page and have them get back to you to see if they want to submit and post. Please realize every poet may not be interested in posting here. This is intended for fun, no pressure on anyone. Have fun!

Hi Poets,
There has been alot of buzz surrounding poets inquiring about 2poemsforu. We are hoping to read some great poems from 2 poets soon! Never fear if you ae looking for a partner and cannot find the "ideal" poem ask them to read some of yours and maybe they could write one that would work! Poet couples abound on OP, get your love poems in the mail and we can post those heartthrob poems too!

We now have another duo who has submitted their poetry to our page! We were able to post earlier than Sept 1st because we had aninterested party that were ready to go. Come and read!!

Hello Poets,
There are two new poems posted as of Sept 19th 5:00 Eastern time. Two of our favorite ladies teamed up and created 2 wonderful poems. These will be the main feature for the remaining part of Sept and into October. Then any poet who would like to submit to this page in October, Teardrops and ginga would appreciate haunt, horror, chill, fright, dark poetry, or autumnal poems as the 2for poems. If we receive more than 1 entry in October we will post up to 4 couplets. Go to the page and read how to do that. Submission will be considered after October 8th for the fright and autumnal genre. tyvm and as always find yourself a partner in poetry. Head on down to read these 2 new submissions!!
