A Survey Out of Curiosty and Humor

How much poetry is written, edited, and read on the tiolet?
As speaking for myself none, but when I mentioned this to Maddi
when we working together, we rolled laughing, lmao.

i have written alot of poetry in the bathroom... i have a wordpad on my blackberry and quite a few ideas have come to life in there...

As for me, none. I do most of my mental composing while behind the wheel of my bus. Between runs (currently fifteen minutes driving, fifteen minutes sitting) on my campus route, I pull out the laptop and key in my thoughts. I've also written a sci-fi novel using this technique during the passed 11 months. I try to keep myself busy, as someone once said, "A mind is a terrible thing to lose." LOL I think it was Dan Quail.

OTHER THAN " STRANDED I'M STRANDED ON THE TOILET BOWL AND I NEED ANOTHER ROLL" I'D HAVE TO SAY NO!!!!!!

Haha, none written in the John for me Haha, pun intended? Lol ... Most of my writes are written in the dark of night, the wee hours of the morning, through a cloud of smoke as my cigarette burns down to the filter. ~Spence

Well, sometimes at work I am struck with inspiration, so I sneak into the bathroom to jot my ideas down!! I've never written a complete poem in the powder room, though!! LOL

I often do not write on the toilet... No writing material. But I did once have a notebook and wrote a short 1 verse poem... It was amusing. lol.

As for me I find myself writing a few lines having listened to music or having reflected on a book I have read. I also having written a poem leave it for a few days or sometimes a few weeks then read and make adjustments if necessary.

I, for one, have done lots of work (poetic) on the toilet. It's probably the second most creative spot I work in, next to whatever math class I find myself in. "Run, Wild River, Run" "Eulogy" and most of "the paver and the pilgrim" where written in one "sitting", haha and most recetly "we call these Dreams" came to me while in a restroom. haha

Mr. Clive Barker says he would like to write for at least 30 more years and eventually reach at least 50 books. He's at 20 books right now. He says that anyone who wants to become a writer needs to educate and discipline themselves so they can hold onto "fugitive ideas" whenever they may come, including on the toilet. He says that Pinhead came to him in a dream, or in what would be described as a nightmare by most people.

I tried to write "Cruise Ship" on the paper bag, from which I had just eaten two beef patties. The ink and the oil refused to mix., I eventually wrote it on a tissue I begged from a lady's handbag. When I got home, I typed the poem, and the tissue mysteriously disappeared.,within minutes after, inadvertently thrown into the waste basket by my helper!

I[ Inspiration has a way of flowing freely while :"at ease" on the toilet. I am not really inspired when under the shower. That traumatic experience is always damp in spirit, nude of body and and bare of poetic thought, unless ................you know?

Unfortunately and tragically, most times fortunately , the product of inspiration, while on the toilet, has a way of getting flushed.

I once knew a man who spouted marvellous love poetry to a lost mistress, when drunk. Unfortunately or fortunately, most of it was either irretrievable or unprintable. But he was really voluble, good and great, "when deeply in his cups , he imagined himself a poet,"
